Mark
T. Hebner is the President of Index Funds
Advisors in Irvine , California and the author of
Index Funds: The 12-Step Program, Active Investors
Anonymous and the websites ifa.com and indexfunds.com.
He is considered the leading internet provider of
information on index funds. After selling his interest
in his public company in 1985 for over $6 million
of dollars, Mr. Hebner utilized the services of
several stockbrokers at nationally known firms.
When Mr. Hebner realized that his portfolio underperformed
a risk-appropriate benchmark of index funds by about
$30 million dollars over 14 years, he became so
interested in the idea of indexing that he started
his own firm to educate and advise clients on this
investment strategy. He has just spent nearly 7
years and about $1 million dollars to develop a
book and websites to educate investors on the benefits
of index funds. He lead a team of 60 writers,
artists, web designers, statisticians, and researchers
in writing and developing a book and the internet's
most comprehensive websites on index funds. The
materials include nearly 600 web pages containing
the web version and eBook of Index Funds: The 12-Step
Program, numerous articles, educational videos,
risk capacity surveys, and uniquely educational
illustrations, charts, and tables. Overall, this
material provides a comprehensive investor education
explaining the advantages and rock solid logic of
a tax-managed, globally diversified portfolio of
index funds matched to an investor's risk capacity.
Mr. Hebner has been the founder,
President and CEO of three companies, one of which
became a publicly held corporation. He has made
a dozen investments in private companies and has
owned a substantial portfolio of stocks and bonds
for about twenty years. He is an Investment Advisor
and has a Masters in Business Administration from
the University of California at Irvine and a Bachelor
of Science in Pharmacy from the University of New
Mexico , with a specialization in Nuclear Pharmacy.
Mr. Hebner was a member of the Young Presidents'
Organization from 1984 to 2002 and is currently
a member of the World Presidents' Organization and
the Chief Executive Organization.
"I hope that my book and websites will educate investors
worldwide, so they won't have to look back fifteen years
from now and determine that they earned substantially less
than the return that they had the capacity to earn."
